Music is a language that everyone can understand. Children identify rhythm before they can recognise words. Even infant babies respond to the melody. And they express the fondness through their giggles and wiggles. When Arthur Schopenhauer said “Music is the food of Soul” he described the most accurate fact. Because music is something that touches the souls.

In the growing years of kids, especially in toddlerhood. We need to introduce new things to children for their learning and growth. And they learn things better in a rhythmic way. Even grown-ups involve music in different routine activities. Like Zumba and yoga exercises. Because it makes things easy to learn and remember.

1. A Language of Expressions

Music is the art of expression and emotion, and they are themselves a language. When we are happy, sad or terrified. Without describing it into words, people can understand in what state we are through our expressions. Children who face difficulty in expressing, teaching them music can provide a way to convey their thoughts and emotions.

There has been a lot of research work done on the benefit of music in the development of a child. Which proves that music effectively works to evolve. It strengthens memory and activates brain cells to concentrate better. It is a common practice in schools that children sing poems with rhythm and music. They can’t clearly pronounce the words, but they try to hum their favourite song or poem all the time. In this way, their memory improves.

3. Build Confidence

The ability to master a talent boosts the confidence of a child. Through music, you can teach your children to overcome the fear of failure. Research proves that children who have affection for music are likely to be more socialised than others. If your kid is an introvert, it is ok. But if he isolates himself too much, you need to find an activity through which he can make friends. And what is better than making him take music classes. When children interact and play together, their social skills improve. They make friends and they learn to communicate. Most importantly, they learn acts of sharing and listening.

And there are always some patterns to follow to give a fantastic performance.

If you ask a child which class of his school he likes the most, his answer will be The Music Class.

10. A Great Profession

We can’t deny the fact that it is a reputable profession. A talented musician earns more than just money. If your child expresses his interest in music, support him. It might be possible that in the future, he becomes a star and gets fame with his skills. Do not consider it only a hobby. A hobby today can be a profession tomorrow. And the best job for your child is the one that he loves.

How to introduce music to Children

Children have likes and dislike from infancy. We only shape their nature and personalities accordingly. Play different instruments in front of your kid and see on which one he reacts more. Teach them the basic of different instruments. Like a piano, flute, drum etc. And let your kid select his favourite one.

Make it a routine to sing and play with your little one. If he is nosy about your gadgets, get him one tab and create a playlist of his favourite poems. When he gets smart enough to recognise sounds, gift him a toy piano and teach his rhymes. Such as Twinkle Twinkle, Jingle Bells, Baba Black Sheep.

Learning music has zero negative aspects, and it is safe to teach. In a world where everyone is picking up weapons for their safety, hand over an instrument to your child. Since music is the language of peace and harmony. No act is atrocious until and unless it harms another living being. And there is no harm to learn and teach music to our children. It not only benefits them but also to the people around them. Because it plays a visible role to develop personalities and shapes minds. But also keep an eye on their company.
